The heavy duty machines of the THM gas turbine family are designed for a long life with a high level of reliability and availability. They are supplied as ready-assembled drive units.
Their modular design facilitates an easy installation and maintenance. The relatively low turbine inlet temperature guarantees a long life and extended inspection intervals. Fitting of two external Dry Low NOx combustion chambers in a V-configuration guarantees extremely low emission values.
The THM gas turbine is used for:
Mechanical drives
Generator drive
The FT8 gas turbine is based on modern aeroengine technology from Pratt & Whitney, adapted for industrial use. The gas turbine is characterised by a compact, modular design. FT8 gas turbines achieve a high level of availability and are extremely reliable.
The PowerPac and the TwinPac offer two different variants of the FT8 gas turbine for power generation purposes. To drive compressors MechPac the power turbine developed by MAN Turbo is used.
This has a rated speed of 5500 rpm. Pollutant emissions are reduced by means of Dry-Low-NOx-Brennkammer or by injecting water into the fuel chamber of the turbine.
Power turbines for driving generators:
-
Speed of 3,000 rpm, no gear unit, coupled directly to a generator for 50 Hz
-
Speed of 3,600 rpm, no gear unit, coupled directly to a generator for 60 Hz
-
Both power turbines are available both with clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation.
Power turbine for mechanical drive:
-
Speed of 5,500 rpm, speed range variable between 2,500 – 5,750 rpm, counterclockwise (in flow direction).
The FT8 gas turbine is used for:
