06.06.2003 - In November 1994, MAN Turbo was commissioned to supply a centrifugal compressor for gas treatment in Denmark. The centrifugal compressor is equipped with dry gas seals and a gear unit.
Following a successful train test, the compressor installation was commissioned in 1995.

Following extraction, moist crude gas is cleaned to remove undesirable constituents such as higher hydrocarbons and traces of mercury. These are separated in so-called gas drying plants. Subsequent cleaning and separation processes produce commercially usable natural gas, which is available for further processing thanks e.g. to liquefaction (gas-to-liquids, natural gas liquids).

The hydrocarbons produced in natural gas extraction are separated into lighter constituents that can be sold on in turn as gas.
