22.05.2003 - The pump is fitted vertically and operates continuously, so that no suction level control system is required. The pump is self-adjusting according to the amount of water present. It also operates steadily if no pumping medium is flowing through the pump. A supply of fresh water is required to lubricate the lower pump bearing and to provide a seal against the ingress of dirty water. This is also used to cool the pump when no pumping medium is flowing. To prevent the medium from flowing back and to stop air getting in, a non-return valve has to be fitted on the pressure side.
Series NPCVX extraction pumps are single-stage centrifugal pumps with a central inlet and tangential outlet and a vertical, single-stage, single-inlet volute casing. The pump is supplied with various types of impeller and in various materials. A closed impeller (NPCV) or a vortex wheel (NPCVW) is available as well as the standard open impeller (NPCVX).
